ProHelp® EPM - Automatic Reports.... The information in this FAQ applies to the following:
Many standard ProHelp® EPM Series reports may be automatically executed without user interaction. This powerful feature will allow an advanced user to automatically print reports, or generate a report file in ASCII text, Microsoft Word, or an Excel spreadsheet. Step 1: Start the System Reports application. Select the report you wish to automate. We will use the Daily Production report as an example. Step 2: Press the Shift menu, select Production, then select the Daily Production Report. Specify the appropriate machines, departments, etc. and press the OK button. The report will be displayed. The selected options are the ones that will be used to automatically generate the report, so choose carefully. Step 3: After the report is generated, select the Report menu and press Schedule. A screen will appear allowing you to schedule the appropriate task. NOTE: If the Schedule menu option is disabled, you do not have appropriate security permissions to schedule reports for automatic execution. Contact the helpdesk for additional information. The left side of the screen under Schedule allows you to set the frequency of the file or printer output. For example, you might select to run the report once a week, every Monday, at 8:00 a.m. The right side of the screen under Output allows you to print the report or send the output to a file. To print the report, select Printer and press the Configure button. This will give you a list of all the printers defined on the Windows NT system. Select the appropriate printer, print range, and copies and press the OK button. To send the report to a file, select File and press the Configure button. An export screen will appear allowing you to choose a format such as Excel, DIF, text, Lotus, and Word. You may also specify a destination directory. Make the appropriate selections and press the OK button. Step 4: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 To modify the frequency of the report or file output, you must have access to the Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager. Select the Management folder, then select SQL Server Agent and Jobs to view and modify all of the scheduled functions. Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 To modify the frequency of the report or file output, you must have access to the Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager. Select the Management folder, then select SQL Server Agent and Jobs to view and modify all of the scheduled functions.Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 To modify the frequency of the report or file output, you must have access to the Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager. Press the Server tab then select Scheduled task to view and modify all the scheduled functions.
