ProHelp® EPM - Why does the Main Menu launch Web Reports instead of System Reports....


The information in this FAQ applies to the following:

  • ProHelp® EPM, Releases 6.2.0, 6.1.0, 6.0.0

  • ProHelp® EPM, Releases 5.2.2, 5.2.1, 5.2.0, 5.1.0, 5.0.0


When you install the ProHelp® EPM client software, you are asked if you want the Main Menu to launch Web Reports or to launch System Reports. It only makes sense to choose Web Reports if you have also purchased the Web Reporting option. Otherwise, when you press the "Launch System Reports" icon on the Main Menu (and in most other applications), your web browser will be started but with an invalid page displayed.

If you accidentally selected "Web Reports" during the client software installation and would like to undo this, you may perform either of the following:

  • Re-install the client software and select "System Reports" instead of "Web Reports".

  • Run the registry editor and delete the key HKLM\Software\Mattec\ProHelp\WebRprtsLoc. Ensure that you do not delete any other registry keys. This should be attempted by advanced users only.
