ProHelp® EPM - How can I launch the old-style "PFSD" Real-Time Display from the Main Menu....

The information in this FAQ applies to the following:

  • ProHelp® EPM, Release 5.2.2, 5.2.1

Prior to Release 5.2.1, ProHelp® EPM had a Real-Time Display that was often referred to as the "PFSD", or Plant-Floor Status Display. This was a graphical display that used a colored icon to represent a machine.

After installing Release 5.2.1, the "new" Real-Time Display was installed as the default display and is what gets launched when you click on the Real-Time Display button on the Main Menu. However, the old "PFSD" Real-Time Display continues to work.

To configure your computer to launch the "PFSD" Real-Time Display from the Main Menu, follow these steps:

  • Start the Registry Editor.

  • Modify the setting for HKLM\Software\Mattec\ProHelp\RealTimeDisplay and change the value from 0 to 1.

  • You can now launch the old "PFSD" Real-Time Display by pressing the Real-Time Display button on the Main Menu.

To create a shortcut to the old "PFSD" Real-Time Display and place the shortcut on your desktop, follow these steps:

  • Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.

  • Navigate to the ProHelp® EPM installation directory on your computer. Typically, this is C:\Program Files\Mattec\ProHelp.

  • Open the bin directory.

  • Right-click on PFSD.exe and select Copy.

  • Rick-click on the desktop and select Paste Shortcut.

  • You can now launch the old "PFSD" Real-Time Display by clicking on the icon that is on your desktop.
