ProHelp® EPM - Variable SPC Data Not Available From ProHelp....

The information in this FAQ applies to the following:

  • ProHelp® EPM, Releases 6.2.0, 6.1.0, 6.0.0

  • ProHelp® EPM, Releases 5.2.2, 5.2.1, 5.2.0, 5.1.0, 5.0.0

When entering Variable Data at an MIU, the MIU may display the error message "SPC data not available from ProHelp". There may be several causes for this message:

  • You have not purchased the SPC/SQC option from Mattec. You must purchase this option before SPC/SQC data entry and analysis will be enabled.

  • The Process Sheet for this job does not have Variable SPC enabled in the appropriate Sample Sheet or the Process Sheet does not have a Sample Sheet selected.

  • The Sample Sheet for this job is improperly configured.

When verifying that the Sample Sheet is configured properly, remember that the Sample Sheet may be configured differently when data is to be entered at a PC than if you plan to enter data from an MIU. If Variable SPC data is to be entered at an MIU, you must do the following in the Sample Sheet:

  1. Set the value for Parts Per Cycle to one (1). This value may only be set to a number other than one if all Variable Data entry is to be done at a PC.

  2. Set the value for Number of Cycles to ten (10) or less. This value may only be set to a number greater than 10 if all Variable Data entry is to be done at a PC.

  3. Select twenty (20) variables or less for "MIU/IMAC Entry". For older MIUs, select ten (10) variables or less for "MIU/IMAC Entry".

  4. If you are using ProHelp® EPM, Release 5.2.2 or earlier, ensure that the variables selected for "MIU/IMAC Entry" are numbered consecutively, starting at zero (0). For example, if you have selected 5 variables for MIU entry, they must be numbered 0-4. If you have selected 20 variables for MIU entry, they must be numbered 0-19.

To modify the Sample Sheet for a job, follow these steps:

  • Start Edit Facilities.

  • Click on the Edit menu.

  • Click on the ProStat® SPC/SQC menu.

  • Click on the Sample Sheet menu.

  • When the Sample Sheets program is started, select the Sample Sheet you wish to modify.

  • Modify the Sample Sheet as desired and press Save to save your changes.

To modify the Sample Sheet for a job in ProHelp® EPM, Release 5.2.2 and earlier, follow these steps:

  • Start Edit Facilities.

  • Click on the Quality menu.

  • Click on the Sample Sheets menu.

  • When the Sample Sheets program is started, select the Sample Sheet you wish to modify.

  • Modify the Sample Sheet as desired and press Save to save your changes.
