ProHelp® EPM - Scrap is Double Counted in MIU Report....

The information in this FAQ applies to the following:

  • ProHelp® EPM, Releases 6.2.0, 6.1.0, 6.0.0

  • ProHelp® EPM, Releases 5.2.2, 5.2.1, 5.2.0, 5.1.0, 5.0.0

If you generate the Scrap Report at an MIU and scrap entries appear to be double counted, the Scrap Map that is configured at the host is configured improperly.

The ScrapMap is used to map the system-wide scrap (defect) reasons into 10, 20, or as many as 200 scrap reasons that the MIU understands (depending on MIU type). If one of the scrap reasons appears in 2 separate "Secondary Scrap" categories, scrap entries for this reason will appear to be double counted in the MIU's scrap report.

The host-based scrap reports should be correct. The scrap was actually recorded correctly.

To modify the host's Scrap Map, follow these steps:

  • Start Edit Facilities.

  • Click on the Site menu.

  • Click on the Codes menu.

  • Select Scrap Maps.

  • Remove the duplicate Secondary Scrap reason(s) as desired and press Save to save your changes.

  • Reboot the host computer to ensure that your changes take effect.
