ProHelp® EPM - System is too slow despite having a lot of RAM.... The information in this FAQ applies to the following:
If your system is slow, despite having a lot of RAM in the server, it is possible that SQL Server is not configured properly. SQL Server 6.5 will only use the amount of RAM that is specifically allocated to it. By default, SQL Server 6.5 will only use 16 Meg of RAM. Mattec currently recommends that EPM servers should have 256 Meg of RAM, of which 128 Meg should be allocated to SQL Server. To change the amount of RAM that is allocated to SQL Server, follow these steps:
