The TSMIU sets a new standard for ease-of-use, including the following:

• Large, easy-to-press buttons


• Intuitive calculator-style entry for numerical values


• Picklists

Notice that after selecting the scrap reason "Flash" the user is prompted to type in the amount of scrap.

Fields that are editable are highlighted with a 3 Dimensional border so they are easy to recognize. For example, below the user is prompted to select a machine signal after pressing the "Cyc Time" field.
