ProHelp® EPM - Job Scheduler

ProHelp® EPM allows users to create and schedule jobs several years in advance for 4,096 machines. Changes in actual cycle times, downtime, scrap, etc. can extend the amount of time it will take for a job to run and are reflected in real-time. Jobs that will finish on-time are colored Green; jobs that will finish late are colored Red.

Your schedule personnel can drag a job from one machine to another in an attempt to get all jobs to finish on-time. If a particular machine does not have a "process sheet" defined (that would permit that job to run on the machine), an error is displayed and the person is prevented from moving the job to that machine. This allows your Process Engineer(s) to define rules that prevent jobs from being scheduled on machines that aren't capable of running the job!

Job Schedule

The user may display a variety of information on the job bar, including:

  • Job Number

  • Part Number

  • Tool Number

  • Customer ID

  • Material ID

  • Color ID

  • Forecasted End Date

  • Desired End Date

  • Forecasted Start Date

  • Desired Start Date

  • Job Duration

Tool Conflicts are automatically highlighted and resolved interactively from within the Job Schedule. Users can easily see which tools conflict and the length of the conflicts.

Several reports are available, including the following:

  • Schedule Summary Report

  • List of Unscheduled Jobs Report

  • Performance Against Schedule Report

  • Tool Conflict Report

Reports are accessed from inside the Job Schedule. There is no need to exit the application to view and print related reports.

Users can easily right-click on a job from within the Job Schedule and launch the Job Control program. The Job Control program allows the user to start, stop, and suspend jobs for any machine.

Kanban Scheduling

ProHelp® EPM offers two optional features to facilitate Kanban scheduling. The "Kanban Scheduling Option" implements automatic Kanban scheduling functions within ProHelp® EPM. This feature allows users to eliminate the need to manually track Kanban cards. When using this feature, the user must define a Part ID which contains Kanban-specific fields. When an empty Kanban for that part is returned (e.g., from the assembly area), it is scanned into the system. The ProHelp® EPM software will automatically create and schedule Kanban jobs at the appropriate time.

The "Kanban Quick Start Option" allows users to manually create and start Kanban jobs from a supported MIU. This feature requires users to implement a manual Kanban system and it simply facilitates that manual system.
